Mulch Hauling Across the Lower 48
When spring demand hits, an empty mulch yard costs a landscape supplier real business. GFI Transport hauls bulk mulch from mills and processing facilities to the suppliers, contractors, and municipalities waiting on it. Family owned since 1990, based in Pennsylvania, with operating authority in all 48 contiguous states.
Mulch Hauling That Keeps Your Yard Stocked Through Peak Season
Mulch demand does not build slowly. It arrives in a rush, and it tends to come in early spring and again in the fall. A supplier running low in April cannot wait a week for a truck, and a contractor with a crew staged for a large install cannot wait at all.
GFI Transport moves mulch in bulk loads so that supply keeps pace with demand. Having an experienced transportation partner means the product shows up when your customers need it. That looks like:
- Landscape suppliers that stay properly stocked through the spring and fall rush
- Contractors on large projects who get material without losing days on site
- Commercial and residential job sites that avoid delays
- Recycled wood products that move out of the yard and into productive use
- Bulk quantities that move more economically than smaller loads, since the cost of the trip is spread across more material
Why Mulch Is Worth Moving Well
Mulch improves how a landscape looks, and it does real work underneath. It reduces weed growth, helps soil hold moisture, protects soil from erosion, and shields plant roots from temperature extremes, as University of Minnesota Extension explains. The result is healthier plant growth and more stable soil.
It also gives wood a second purpose. Trees, bark, branches, and other organic material that could have been discarded are processed into useful landscaping products instead. Turning that material into mulch helps reduce waste and supports more sustainable landscapes, and every load we haul keeps that cycle moving.
Who Depends on Dependable Mulch Transportation
Mulch hauling supports a wide range of businesses, organizations, and communities:
- Mulch producers and wood processors
- Landscape companies and landscaping contractors
- Garden centers and nurseries
- Landscape supply companies
- Municipal and public works departments
Behind each of them are the parks, schools, and properties that get planted, refreshed, and maintained with the material we deliver.
The Right Trailer for Every Mulch Load
Mulch is light and bulky, so the trailer matters. We match equipment to the product, the pickup, and the receiving site.
Extra sidewall height that lets a light, bulky product like mulch travel in larger volumes per load.
A hydraulic tip for quick unloading at supply yards and job sites with room to dump
A live bottom floor that moves the load out the back without tipping the trailer, useful where overhead clearance or ground conditions make dumping impractical.
Most of our
dump trailers can haul up to 80 cubic yards of product, and our
full fleet gives us options when a site has special requirements.

- Composting facilities
- Agricultural and forestry operations
Where we deliver:
- Landscape supply companies

What Shapes Your Mulch Hauling Rate
Every mulch load is priced on its own details. The main factors are:
- Distance between the pickup and the delivery site
- Load size and how much of a trailer the shipment fills
- Trailer type and what the receiving site can unload
- Seasonal demand, since spring and fall tighten capacity
- Schedule, including pickup and delivery windows
Bulk loads generally cost less per cubic yard than smaller ones. We quote each shipment individually, so
request a rate with your product, pickup location, and destination and we will send you a clear number.

Why Suppliers and Contractors Choose GFI for Mulch Loads
Plenty of carriers will haul mulch once. Suppliers and contractors who rely on it all season need one who keeps showing up.
GFI is a family owned trucking company founded in 1990 as an outgrowth of Garber Farms, Inc., now led by the third generation of the Garber family. Dry bulk is our specialty, and mulch is part of it. We earned back-to-back Great West Safety Awards for highway safety in 2023 and 2024. When volume spikes in peak season,
Garber Brokerage adds capacity so a load does not sit. Whether you have one load or 150, we keep you informed from pickup to delivery. Read more

Mulch Hauling Questions We Hear Often
What trailers do you use to haul mulch?
High sided dump trailers, frameless dump trailers, and walking floor (live bottom) trailers. The right one depends on your product, the pickup, and how the receiving site unloads. Call us with the details and we will match the equipment.
How much mulch fits on one trailer?
Most of our dump trailers can haul up to 80 cubic yards of product. The practical load for mulch depends on the trailer, the moisture content of the material, and weight limits on the route. Give us your product and lanes and we will confirm what a load looks like for your job.
When is peak season for mulch hauling?
Demand builds in early spring and again in the fall. Capacity tightens during those windows, so booking ahead for recurring loads helps keep your yard stocked.
Can you deliver mulch to a residential property?
Yes, as bulk loads, when the site can handle a full tractor trailer. Send us the address and any access details, such as driveway length, overhead clearance, and turnaround space, and we will confirm whether it works.
Do you haul wood waste or landfill loads?
No. We haul finished and processed mulch and wood products from mills, recycling operations, and processing facilities. We do not haul hazardous materials or landfill loads.
Do you ship mulch outside the Lower 48?
We serve the lower 48 states and do not currently serve Alaska or Hawaii. Garber Brokerage adds capacity for larger or recurring volume within our service area.
Related Hauling Services
Landscape suppliers often need more than mulch on the same schedule. We also haul sand and gravel and crushed stone, and our dry bulk materials hauling service covers the rest of the supply chain.
